Bakewell is an app designed for the modern baker to store their recipes, make adjustments, and follow along with their recipes time and time again. It helps users safely store their favorite recipes with pictures and videos to reference for future use.
Bakewell uses a simple color palette for a clean, minimal appeal. Bakewell makes use of the Abril Display font to feminize titles as well as Tablet Gothic for easy-to-read legible recipes. The priority of Bakewell’s design is to beautifully frame the user’s recipes.
Based on my learnings from the research, I created two personas as my target users. My first persona is Daniel, the informed perfectionist, and my second persona is Terri, the showstopping hostess.
Informed Perfectionist

After sitting at a computer all day at work, Daniel enjoys standing in his kitchen and working with his hands. He finds it to be a fun, creative outlet and a big stress reliever from his job. Daniel goes to Youtube for baking advice and inspiration. He bakes a recipe again and again until he gets it perfect.

Terri’s friends call her Martha Stewart as she excels at all things homemaking. For recipes and baking advice, she references Pinterest, her large collection of recipe books, or her pile of notes and papers passed down from her friends and family. Her favorite thing to bake is cakes because she loves creating impressive and cute designs.
